The Supreme Court, having concluded its hearing on petitions challenging the constitutionality of specific clauses in the Special Provincial Elections Bill, announced today (27) that its confidential verdict will be communicated to the President and the Speaker of Parliament.
This announcement followed the completion of a two-day hearing by the court.
The petitions were filed by four parties, including the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, President’s Counsel Nizam Kariyapper.
