The Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, Chandana Abeyratne, has been instructed to refrain from using the title “Professor” before his name.
This directive has been communicated in writing to the heads of the ministry’s departments by the Senior Assistant Secretary (Administration) of the ministry.
It is clarified that Mr. Abeyratne is not currently affiliated with a university, and as such, the use of the title “Professor” in front of his name is no longer applicable.
