As part of a joint initiative between the Government of India and the Government of Sri Lanka, plans are underway to convert 60 classrooms in plantation schools into state-of-the-art smart classrooms.
The Government of India has committed Rs. 508 million in financial assistance for this project, while the Government of Sri Lanka will allocate an additional Rs. 115 million to support the initiative.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalizing this collaboration was recently signed by Prabhat Chandra Keerthi, Secretary of the Ministry of Plantations and Community Infrastructure, and Santosh Jha, the High Commissioner of India.
