Former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga, was granted bail today (17) by the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court.
The court ordered his release on a cash bail of Rs. 10,000, accompanied by two sureties.
Weeratunga was arrested on the 10th following an investigation conducted by the Mirihana Police regarding an alleged incident of assaulting a neighbor. He was subsequently remanded in custody after being produced before the court.
