Former Minister Manusha Nanayakkara’s Brother Granted Bail Over Rs. 3 Million Fraud Allegation

Thisara Iroshana Nanayakkara, the brother of former Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara, who was in remand custody, has been granted bail.

The decision was made when he was presented before the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court earlier today (17).

Bail was granted under strict conditions, including four sureties amounting to Rs. 1 million each.

Thisara Iroshana Nanayakkara had been arrested on December 28th on allegations of defrauding Rs. 3 million by promising to secure overseas employment in the Netherlands.

Separately, former Minister Manusha Nanayakkara has stated that he was not summoned to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department today.
