President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is set to depart the island tonight (13) for a four-day state visit to China.
The visit, scheduled from January 14 to 17, comes at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. During this time, President Dissanayake will hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and a group of diplomats.
As part of the visit, the President is also scheduled to participate in several field visits focused on technological and agricultural development, as well as poverty alleviation. Additionally, he will attend high-level business meetings.
Arrangements have been made for the signing of several bilateral agreements between the two nations during this trip.
This marks President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s second foreign state visit since taking office, underscoring the significance of the visit in strengthening the longstanding relationship between the two countries. It is expected that the visit will foster greater cooperation in areas such as economic development, trade, and investment.
