Sri Lanka Signs MoUs with Local Media and Chinese Institutions to Boost Media Collaboration

Cabinet approval has been granted to establish agreements with the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, the Government Information Department, Lake House, and various institutions of the People’s Republic of China. This announcement was made by Cabinet Media Spokesperson and Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, during a Cabinet media briefing held today (07).

While detailing the Cabinet’s decisions, Dr. Jayatissa highlighted the approval of multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the Ministry of Health and Mass Media and Chinese institutions. He elaborated on the agreements as follows:

  1. An Administrative Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health and Mass Media and the National Radio and Television Administration of the People’s Republic of China.
  2. A Memorandum of Understanding between United Newspaper Company Limited (Lake House) and China Xinhua News Agency.
  3. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Government Information Department and China Xinhua News Agency.
  4. A Memorandum of Understanding between Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation and China Media Group.

These agreements aim to strengthen collaboration in media and communication sectors between Sri Lanka and China.
