A secretary of a farmers’ organization has lodged a formal complaint, alleging the misappropriation of nearly four million rupees from the Mihintale Farmers’ Bank. The funds are said to have been misused under the pretense of an organization allegedly established to procure farmers’ produce but operating under false pretenses.
According to the complaint, the alleged misuse involves a former minister representing the Anuradhapura District, a Regional Officer of the Farmers’ Services, and a clerk attached to the Mihintale Farmers’ Services Office.
The complaint was officially submitted to the Mihintale Development Council by M.K. Padmasiri, Secretary of the Mihintale Bogahaya Farmers’ Organization.
