The All Ceylon Egg Producers Association has announced a substantial reduction in egg prices during the festive season to provide relief to consumers.
As of now, the retail price of an egg in the market has dropped to below Rs. 35.
The association has introduced a tiered pricing structure, with eggs weighing less than 50 grams being sold at Rs. 30 to Rs. 32, while those exceeding 50 grams are priced between Rs. 33 and Rs. 35.
This marks a significant decrease compared to December of the previous year, when the retail price of an egg ranged from Rs. 65 to Rs. 70.
