During a meeting held at the Presidential Secretariat on December 12, UAE Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Khaled Nasser AlAmeri, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to boosting investment in Sri Lanka, alongside providing expertise in digitalization and the adoption of modern technologies.

This meeting took place between Ambassador AlAmeri and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Ambassador AlAmeri noted that approximately 150,000 Sri Lankans are currently employed in the UAE, with discussions also focusing on increasing this number.

The UAE is Sri Lanka’s sixth-largest export market, and both parties explored ways to further expand these trade opportunities.

In addition, Ambassador AlAmeri reaffirmed the UAE’s continued assistance to Sri Lanka, highlighting the long-standing friendship between the two nations. He also extended an invitation for President Dissanayake to visit the UAE in the future.

The meeting was attended by Ahmed M.A.A. Al Shehi, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Sri Lankan Embassy in the UAE, among other officials.
