The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has emphasized its commitment to fostering investment opportunities in Sri Lanka, driven by heightened interest in foreign investments owing to the government’s prudent financial management policies.
This focus emerged during a meeting held today (26) at the Presidential Secretariat between senior ADB officials and Mr. G.N.R.D. Aponsu, Senior Additional Secretary to the President.
Discussions centered on potential investments in key sectors, including energy, modern agriculture, and climate change. The dialogue also explored direct investment initiatives as well as opportunities for public-private partnerships.
The event saw the participation of notable ADB representatives, including Regional Head Takeo Koike, Country Director for Sri Lanka Takafumi Kadono, and Senior Specialist Santhosh Pokharel. Joining them were Samantha Bandara, Director General of the Ministry of Finance, Udeni Udugahapattu, Director of the Ministry of Finance, and several other officials.
