New Cabinet of Ministers Sworn in Before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake

The newly appointed Cabinet of Ministers officially took their oaths before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat this morning at 10:00 a.m.

Dr. Harini Amarasuriya was the first to be sworn in, assuming the role of Prime Minister. The complete list of cabinet members and their respective portfolios is as follows:

  1. Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya – Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Training
  2. Vijitha Herath – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism
  3. Professor Chandana Abeyratne – Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government
  4. Attorney-at-Law Harshana Nanayakkara – Minister of Justice and National Integration
  5. Saroja Savitri Paulraj – Minister of Women and Child Affairs
  6. K.D. Lalkantha – Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands, and Irrigation
  7. Anura Karunathilaka – Minister of Urban Development, Construction, and Housing
  8. Ramalingam Chandrasekaran – Minister of Fisheries, Water, and Marine Resources
  9. Prof. Upali Pannilage – Minister of Rural Development, Social Security, and Community Empowerment
  10. Sunil Handunnetti – Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development
  11. Ananda Wijepala – Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs
  12. Bimal Ratnayake – Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation
  13. Prof. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi – Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious, and Cultural Affairs
  14. Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa – Minister of Health and Mass Media
  15. Samantha Vidyaratne – Minister of Plantations and Community Infrastructure
  16. Sunil Kumara Gamage – Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports
  17. Wasantha Samarasinghe – Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, and Cooperative Development
  18. Professor Krishantha Abeysena – Minister of Science and Technology
  19. Professor Anil Jayantha Fernando – Minister of Labour
  20. Engineer Kumara Jayakody – Minister of Energy
  21. Dr. Dhammika Patabendi – Minister of Environment

The swearing-in marks a significant milestone in the formation of the new government, paving the way for its administrative and policy agendas.
