Former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte is facing serious accusations stemming from an incident on September 12, 2021, where he allegedly entered Anuradhapura Prison while intoxicated. He is accused of removing two Tamil inmates from their cells, forcing them to kneel, and threatening them with a pistol while under the supervision of prison guards.
As a result of these allegations, a legal case has been filed against Ratwatte in the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court, with the hearing set for January 30, 2025.
