Former MP Johnston Fernando has reported to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to provide a statement regarding the ongoing investigation into the discovery of a BMW car found in the parking lot of the Hilton Hotel.
Yesterday (22), Fernando informed the Court of Appeal, through his legal counsel, of his willingness to cooperate and provide a statement to the CID on the matter.
Speaking to the media, Fernando commented, “Let’s see what happens. Time will answer the questions. The truth will prevail.”
In a separate development, the Colombo High Court today (23) issued a warrant for the arrest of Johnston Fernando after he failed to appear in a case filed by the Bribery Commission. The warrant was issued by High Court Judge Manjula Thilakaratne due to Fernando’s absence from court when the case was called.
