In a significant development, veteran entrepreneur and business leader Hanif Yusoof was appointed as the Governor of the Western Province yesterday. The appointment was made by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at a simple yet solemn ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.

Yusoof, the driving force behind Expolanka’s rise as a global logistics leader, brings decades of experience in leadership, governance, and social development to his new role. His contributions to Sri Lanka’s logistics industry, as well as his initiatives in environment, social welfare, and governance, have earned him widespread recognition both locally and internationally.

The newly appointed Governor is expected to leverage his extensive expertise to address the development needs of the Western Province, especially in terms of economic growth, infrastructure development, and sustainable practices.

Yusoof’s appointment has been met with wide approval, with many viewing it as a forward-thinking choice that aligns with the government’s vision of sustainable development and good governance.
