In a recent meeting with officials from the Ministry of Power and Energy, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake confirmed that the country has adequate fuel reserves for consumption. He underscored the importance of maintaining these reserves to ensure uninterrupted access to fuel for the populace in the future. The President urged officials to work diligently to secure sufficient fuel supplies for the coming year, promising his full support in these efforts.

During the discussion held on September 26, the President instructed officials to expedite the distribution of solar panels received as part of Indian aid to 800 Pirivenas. He highlighted the need for a structured roadmap from the Ministry of Electricity to implement these initiatives effectively.

President Dissanayake also emphasized the necessity of accelerating projects funded by the Asian Development Bank and other foreign loans. He proposed establishing a committee to expedite the approval of foreign-aided projects within three months, facilitating quicker project implementation.

Furthermore, the President called for a swift advancement of rural development projects, noting that strengthening the rural economy is crucial. He expressed confidence in the vital role public officials play in these initiatives and encouraged them to commit wholeheartedly to their tasks.

The meeting was attended by several key officials, including Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Secretary to the President, and Prof. Udayanga Hemapala, Secretary of the Energy Ministry.
