The Galkissa Magistrate’s Court has issued an order for the arrest of suspects involved in a 36-million-rupee fraud case, including Mr. Wasantha Samarasinghe, a National Executive Member of the National People’s Movement and a former Member of Parliament.
The court directive follows a complaint lodged with the Colombo Fraud Investigation Division, which alleges that the suspects forged a tax deed to fraudulently lease a property linked to a trade union, resulting in significant financial loss.
Along with Mr. Samarasinghe, two other suspects, Mahinda Jayasinghe and Amaali Kalupahana, have also been implicated in the case. The court has ordered all suspects to be apprehended and presented for further legal proceedings.
