Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said in Parliament today that the granting of liquor licenses aimed at elections should be stopped and in a Samagi Jana Balawega government, all those licenses will be abolished and if the courts go to court, they will be banned through an Act of Parliament. The opposition leader said here that he had earlier brought to the attention of the parliament a restaurant with a liquor license at the Welangahawala intersection in Ambilipitiya regional secretariat of Ratnapura and it has been opened once again amid the opposition of the Maha Sangha.
