Five years ago, militant terrorists targeted several churches and hotels in Sri Lanka, resulting in loss of lives and limbs among the populace, including Catholics. The opposition leader asserted that the truth about these groups remains undisclosed. Sri Lanka Latest News

Following the Easter attack, the opposition leader remarked that every leader in the country pledged to uncover the truth and implement effective measures. However, these assurances, he claimed, were merely tactics to secure votes, as they subsequently concealed the truth, leaving the populace disheartened.

Mr Sajith Premadasa, the opposition leader, declared that he would not endeavour to protect any individual implicated in this heinous attack. He made this statement during the 5th-anniversary commemoration of the Easter attack, organized by the Catholic Committee of Samagi Jana Balavega at St. Mary’s Home for the Elderly in Colombo.

Having already pledged to the Catholic Church, led by His Eminence the Archbishop, as well as to the citizens of the nation, that severe legal repercussions would be pursued against those responsible for the attack, the opposition leader vowed to uphold his commitment and ensure justice for the victims.

Furthermore, the opposition leader criticized past governments for failing to deliver justice and uncover the true orchestrators of the attack, despite assurances to the Catholic community and the Cardinal. Mr Sajith Premadasa reiterated his stance of not negotiating with the masterminds and vowed to administer punishment regardless of status.

Mrs Jalani Premadasa, the esteemed wife of opposition leader Mr Sajith Premadasa, also participated in this charitable event, along with Father Jude Krishantha, who led the Mass.
