Prof. G. L. Peiris said that the opposition is working to build a broad alliance in the upcoming elections, but no such discussions have been held with former President Maithripala Sirisena. Sri Lanka Latest News
Speaking at a press conference held today (01) in Colombo, Professor Peiris said:
The most powerful attack in recent times was the Easter Sunday attack. At the time of the Easter attack, Mr Maithripala Sirisena was serving as the country’s President, Commander-in-Chief and Defense Minister. A lot of attention should be paid to issuing such statements when elections are about to be held. Mr Maithripala Sirisena’s announcement about the Easter attack despite knowing the information is questionable about his delay. Concealing terrorist information is an offence punishable by seven years in jail under the Terrorism Act.
