Parliament member Namal Rajapaksa states that the budget presented by the President is a budget that does not have solutions to get out of the crisis the country is facing. Sri Lanka Latest News

But he also said that the responsibility of defeating the budget has been assigned to the opposition and the leader of the opposition should discuss with the relevant parties and do it.

He stated this while speaking to the media after a discussion held with the party’s MP group at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna headquarters.

The MP also said that there is no point in challenging the budget without consulting with the relevant parties to defeat the opposition’s budget and said that the Colombo city limits may have received relief because the President and the opposition leader represented Colombo.

However, he says that since there are many things included in the previous budget in this year’s budget, it is not possible for someone who was in favour of the previous budget to oppose it.

But he further said that there is a problem as to whether it is reasonable to re-submit the proposals presented in the previous budget without implementing them.
