This bus priority lane operates during morning and evening office rush hours.
Accordingly, vehicles on Galle Road should enter the priority lane near Wellawatta Savoy Cinema between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and proceed towards Colombo Fort via Galle Road.
Another priority lane rule will be in effect between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. from Maradana, Borella Junction to Colombo Fort Olcott Mawatha. The same lane will be operational from 4.00 pm. and at 1 p.m. As an exit.
The priority lane allows vehicles such as Sri Lanka Transport Board (Sri Langama) buses, private buses, school buses, school vans, office transport buses and vans to ply.
Other than the vehicles mentioned above, no other vehicles are allowed to enter the priority lane during this time.
Meanwhile, traffic police have been instructed to issue warnings to drivers who violate this rule during this period.
