Even if the government postpones the local government and provincial council elections with various false reasons, he said that the presidential election cannot be postponed. Mr. Peiris also mentioned that the postponement of the presidential election cannot be done even through a referendum.
Professor G. L. Pieris said this at the press conference held today (4) at the Sansanna Janata Sabha head office in Nawala.
