A resident of Matara area has been protesting since yesterday (27) by climbing on the roof of Jaffna prison demanding that he be transferred from Jaffna prison to another prison.
The prison department said that the suspect, a 41-year-old resident of Matara area, who has been sentenced to imprisonment until the year 2040 for many crimes including housebreaking, was previously detained in Kuruwita prison.
