Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission, Mr. Janaka Ratnayake says that he has been officially informed about the reasons for his removal from the post of chairman.

He also said that he hopes to send a reply letter to the Ministry of Finance regarding the notification, and has also informed that he strongly denies the accusations leveled against him.

However, on February 16, the official office of the Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission Mr. Janaka Ratnayake was sealed.

The police also proceeded to take over all the files of the official office of the chairman of the Public Utility Commission, which were unsealed after 13 days.

Taking into account a statement made by the Kollupitiya Police OIC to the Fort Magistrate Court that there is an attempt to misplace or destroy documents of state by a disruptive group.
