Recently, a video has been circulated on social media, accusing he sexually assaulting a pet dog of Ashu Marasinghe’s girlfriend, Adarsha Karadhana . As a result, Professor Ashu Marasinghe resigned from his position.
Meanwhile, former Member of Parliament Hirunika Premachandra called a press conference with Adarsha Karandana and accused Ashu Marasinghe of animal abuse. Ashu Marasinghe has filed an law suit demanding 500 million rupees from Hirunika Premachandra and one billion rupees from Adarsha Karadana saying that due to the media disclosure, public opinion was wrongly formed against Professor Ashu Marasinghe by misleading the people.
