Gampaha Division Criminal Investigation Division has arrested the man who put ice and drug pills in the school canteen and gave false information to the police due to a long-standing dispute with the woman who ran the canteen of Butpitiya Maha Vidyalaya, Malvatuhiripitiya, Gampaha.
A 60-year-old resident of Malvatuhiripitiya area has been arrested.
The police said that the suspect himself had hidden ice drug packets and drug capsules in the food shelf of the college’s canteen and had given tip off the police.
Regarding the information received, the woman who ran the school canteen was arrested. Then, based on summons orders obtained from the Gampaha court, she was detained at the Malvatuhiripitiya police station from the 6th and further investigations were conducted.
At the time of her arrest, she had told the police that she did not know anything about this and that some outsider had brought drugs to the place.
