The Election Commission has decided to publish the notices calling for nominations for local government elections in the last week of December.
According to the Local Government Polling Act, if the election is to be held on March 20th, the relevant gazette notice must be issued before January 5th.
Therefore, several rounds of discussions have been held regarding the holding of the upcoming elections, and the Chairman of the Election Commission further stated that the related discussions will be held in the coming days as well.
However even though the call for election nomination could be done even now postponing till the last week of December is unbelievable.
