A delegation of 30 minority youths representing 14 diverse political parties from Sri Lanka attended a 5-day training module on Innovative Leadership for Organisation Growth and Excellence at the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Noida from 13-17 July 2026. NIESBUD is a premier organization of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, engaged in training, consultancy, research, etc. to promote entrepreneurship and Skill Development.

The programme was specifically designed keeping in view the diverse professional backgrounds of the participants, including entrepreneurs, political representatives, social leaders, educators, and organisational functionaries. It aims to enhance their leadership effectiveness by equipping them with contemporary tools, frameworks, and practical approaches to lead organisations and communities successfully in a dynamic and evolving environment.

The programme aimed to strengthen participants’ transformational leadership capabilities, enhance creative thinking and problem-solving through design thinking, develop competencies in situational leadership, coaching and mentoring, build emotional intelligence and self-leadership, foster employee engagement and collaborative organisational cultures, equip participants with practical strategies to manage change and drive innovation, provide experiential learning through exposure to India’s leadership practices and development initiatives, and enable participants to prepare actionable Back Home Task Plans for applying the acquired knowledge and skills within their organisations and communities.

The programme also involved cultural immersion through visits to Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, which provided participants with exposure to India’s cultural heritage and offered a platform for informal peer learning and cross-cultural understanding.

This is pursuant to the announcement made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during his State Visit to Sri Lanka in April 2025, offering 700 customised slots annually for Sri Lankan professionals.
