Union Assurance Agency Premier League Brings People Together for the Second Consecutive Year

Union Assurance, the longest-standing private Life Insurer, once again brought its people together in the spirit of sport and fellowship. The Union Assurance Agency Premier League marked its second consecutive year recently at the NCC Grounds, with over 900 participants, including senior management of the Agency business, in a celebration of competition, community, and the enduring bonds that define the Union Assurance Agency family.
The Union Assurance Agency Premier League is part of Union Assurance’s agent value proposition, investing in their total well-being, fostering professional development, internal community, and long-term engagement across its national network.
Competing teams were drawn from Union Assurance’s agency network across the country, with male and female categories contested across the day. This year’s edition carried a deeper significance by extending the invitation beyond the field, with agents joined by their families, turning the occasion into a warm and memorable gathering. A dedicated kids’ carnival added vibrance to the event, ensuring the youngest attendees had a space of their own to relish. The inclusion of senior leadership from the Agency Division reflected the significance the organisation places on agent engagement and recognition.
Team Chilaw of the North Western 01 Zone won the male championship, while Victory Queens of the Uva-Central Zone claimed the female title. Both teams were presented with the Union Assurance Agency Premier League trophy, a perpetual shield that will be defended and passed on annually, as the tournament builds its legacy within the Union Assurance Agency community.
Chief Agency Officer at Union Assurance, Imtiyaz Aniff, commented on the event, “The Agency Premier League is, at its heart, a friendly competition that showcases the camaraderie and united spirit of our people. It is a reflection of the people who give Union Assurance its strength to protect what matters most. Welcoming our agents’ families this year added a meaningful new dimension to the occasion, strengthening the sense of connection beyond the workplace. This event created an exciting environment for our teams to come together and celebrate a strong sense of community, while reflecting our emphasis on fostering shared experiences.”
Union Assurance is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH), the largest conglomerate listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange, operating with over 80 companies in 7 diverse industry sectors.
