People’s Bank recently conducted the weekly draws of its ‘People’s Remittance Vaasi Kotiyai 2025 – Send and Win Bangkok Tours’ campaign, selecting four winners for the period from 3rd December to 31st December 2025. The draw ceremony was held at the Overseas Customer Services (OCS) premises in Colombo 10.
Each winner will be awarded Bangkok tour under this special initiative, designed to recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of Sri Lankan migrant workers who play a vital role in supporting the national economy through overseas remittances.
Simultaneously, People’s Bank conducted the ‘‘People’s Remittance Doo Daru Pranama Draw 2025’, recognizing minors who opened ‘Ethera Udana’ Minors’ Accounts between 1st October and 31st December 2025 and received eligible Remittance/ fund transfers to these accounts. Under the initiative, two winners were selected from each branch, with each winner receiving a ‘Ethera Udana’ school equipment set valued at Rs. 5,000.
The draw ceremony was attended by several senior officials of People’s Bank, including Deputy General Manager (Retail Banking & Overseas Customer Services) Aruni Liyanagunawardana, Deputy General Manager (Corporate Banking) Sadana Perera, Deputy General Manager (Banking Support Services) Idumini Rathnayake, Assistant General Manager (OCS) Buddhika Ranatungage, Assistant Chief Internal Auditor N. Y. Fernando, and Senior Manager (OCS) Thilini Perera. Also present was Senior Tax Officer of the Department of Revenue (Western Province), N. A. S. M. Napagoda.
People’s Bank also launched the ‘People’s Remittance Vaasi Kotiyai 2026’ campaign, aimed at honouring Sri Lankan expatriates who play a vital role in strengthening the national economy through their remittances, while uplifting the quality of life of their families.
Through these initiatives, People’s Bank continues to strengthen its position as a socially responsible national financial institution, committed to empowering families, supporting migrant communities, and contributing to sustainable economic development across Sri Lanka.
