Global Vehicle Exporter AA Japan Opens Sri Lanka Office, Eyes Market Growth with its 30 Years of Expertise

AA Japan (Private) Limited has opened its first office in Sri Lanka on January 2026, bringing three decades of experience in the Japanese used vehicle export business directly to the Sri Lankan market.

Since Sri Lanka reopened its vehicle import market, AA Japan has exported more than 6,000 vehicles to the country, reflecting strong demand and the company’s ability to meet the needs of Sri Lankan buyers. This success is part of a larger picture, with the company shipping more 18,000 vehicles annually to customers in over 80 countries. What began in 1996 as a small operation in Tokyo, established by Hameed Ramzan to supply his family’s car trading business, has grown into one of the leading players in the Japanese used vehicle export industry.

The opening of the Sri Lanka office represents a major step in AA Japan’s approach to serving its customers. Rather than relying solely on remote communication, the company now offers face-to-face support and local expertise. Sri Lankan customers can walk into the office, discuss their vehicle needs, and get immediate assistance in their preferred language. The team provides support in all three languages, making the service accessible to a wide range of buyers across the country.

The office handles the complete process of importing vehicles from Japan. This includes helping customers choose the right vehicle, providing accurate price quotes, coordinating shipping logistics, managing all necessary documentation, arranging vehicle inspections, and offering after-sales consultation. For many buyers, importing a vehicle from another country can feel complicated and risky. The local office removes much of that uncertainty by putting a trusted team within reach.

“We’ve seen strong interest from Sri Lankan buyers over the years, and opening this office was the right next step,” said Hameed Ramzan, Founder and President of AA Japan. “Our customers here deserve the same level of service and attention we provide everywhere else. Having a local team means faster responses, better communication, and more confidence in the buying process. We’re not just selling vehicles—we’re building relationships.”

AA Japan sources its vehicles directly from Japanese auction houses and also maintains its own inventory. The company works with individual buyers as well as businesses, including car dealers, construction companies, and transport providers. Each vehicle goes through quality checks before being approved for export, a practice the company has maintained throughout its history.

Looking ahead, AA Japan plans to introduce new digital tools and improved service systems to make the vehicle buying experience even smoother. The Sri Lanka office joins the company’s growing network of locations in Kenya, Australia, Botswana, Phillipines, Thailand, and Chile, each providing localized support in their respective markets.
