NDB Unveils 2025 Calendar with a Pioneering Blend of Technology and Sustainability

NDB Bank has once again redefined the essence of traditional timekeeping with the launch of its 2025 Calendar, themed “Fold to Unfold a Sustainable Future.” This innovative creation blends cutting-edge digital technology with a profound commitment to sustainability, symbolising the Bank’s dedication to shaping a brighter, more responsible future.

The highlight of the 2025 Calendar is the beloved NDB Calendar Pal, an AI-powered virtual assistant that continues to push the boundaries of interactivity. However, this year, the Calendar Pal adds a new dimension by guiding users through an exciting origami journey. Each month’s page transforms into an intricate origami creation, with folding instructions provided by the Calendar Pal via a simple QR code scan. These creations are not just artistic, by merging creativity with purpose, each creation tells a story linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

To celebrate this innovative creation, the Bank also organised a lively event at its Head Office in Nawam Mawatha. The occasion brought together families, sustainability advocates, and children, featuring engaging activities such as origami workshops, fun-filled surprises, and delightful prizes.

Speaking at the occasion, Sanjaya Perera, NDB’s SVP, remarked, “At NDB, we believe in moving beyond the ordinary. The 2025 Calendar is an invitation to engage with sustainability through the lens of innovation. With each fold, we hope to inspire a deeper connection to the values that will shape our shared future.”

The event was further amplified by the presence of Keshan Perera, Chairperson of the Youth Wing at the Wildlife and Nature Protection Society. Keshan’s connection to NDB is deeply personal—he was first inspired to engage in environmental conservation during one of the Bank’s “Education for Conservation” programs (done in partnership with WNPS) held at his school in 2018.

This year’s calendar is more than just a calendar; it’s a reminder that innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand, shaping experiences that inspire and transform while simultaneously reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to redefining banking experiences and ensuring that “The future is banking on us.”

From its AI-driven interactivity to its tangible contribution to environmental consciousness, the NDB 2025 Calendar is a reminder that innovation and purpose go hand in hand. Scan the QR code on your calendar and embark on a transformative journey where each fold unfolds a brighter, more sustainable future.
