The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested and remanded Thisara Nanayakkara, the brother of former Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara, in connection with allegations of accepting bribes under the pretense of providing foreign employment opportunities.
Unverified reports suggest that Thisara Nanayakkara holds approximately Rs. 270 million in his bank account.
It has also been reported that Thisara Nanayakkara served as part of the ministerial staff during his brother’s tenure as a government minister.
In light of these developments, social activist Kamantha Thushara has lodged a formal complaint with the CID, calling for an immediate investigation into the actions of former Minister Manusha Nanayakkara.
