The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court has directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to record statements from 18 former cabinet ministers from the Ranil Wickremesinghe administration concerning the importation of substandard medicines.
The former Health Minister faced allegations related to the import of immunoglobulins and several other substandard drugs, leading to his arrest and an extended remand by the CID.
Although Keheliya Rambukwella was subsequently released on bail, the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court today ordered the CID to gather statements from the cabinet members who approved these imports.
