Former MP Nalinda Jayatissa Criticizes Government’s Reliance on Loans and Debt Management
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Former Member of Parliament Nalinda Jayatissa has stated that if the government had inherited a well-functioning country, there would be no need to borrow money.

He criticized the current situation, claiming that the country is trapped in debt without generating any significant revenue.

Jayatissa expressed confidence that the nation’s challenges would be addressed properly in the future. He also pointed out that the government is currently borrowing within the limits approved by parliament and managing the economy through these loans.

He further remarked that this situation arises when a government takes control and operates based on the existing circumstances.

Jayatissa made these comments during a program on Sirasa TV.
