Dr. Nihal Abeysinghe, Secretary General of the National People’s Power, announced that President Anura Dissanayake is set to nominate the new Prime Minister today.
He confirmed that the official gazette notification regarding the appointment will be issued within the day. Following this, a four-member cabinet will be formed to govern the country until the general elections.
Dr. Abeysinghe also mentioned that 15 ministries will be assigned to the new cabinet, and preparations are underway to appoint secretaries for these ministries.
