Anura Dissanayake’s Victory Reflects People’s Desire for Change, Says President’s Lawyer

Mr. Saliya Peiris, a prominent lawyer and former president of the Sri Lanka Lawyers Association, commented on Mr. Anura Dissanayake’s victory, stating it reflects the people’s desire for genuine change.

Peiris noted that Dissanayake’s win is evident despite the final voting results still pending. However, he emphasized that Dissanayake will face significant challenges ahead.

According to Peiris, these challenges will arise as Dissanayake navigates a smooth transition, which includes calling parliamentary elections and forming a new government.
