Once again, false information circulating on social media has caused a stir. Claims that the Kiriella family had fled the country were proven untrue when they turned up to vote.
Opposition Chief Organizer, Mr. Lakshman Kiriella, addressed these rumors, stating, “We are not leaving the country—those spreading lies will have to leave.”
Mr. Kiriella made this statement while attending the election at Dangolla Wimalabuddhi Vidyalaya in Kandy, where he participated in the voting process.
