The Supreme Court today (18) dismissed an interlocutory petition seeking the removal of the interim injunction that prevents Mr. Deshbandu Tennakoon from fulfilling his duties as Inspector General of Police.

The petition was submitted by Reverend Bellanwila Dhammarathana Thero, Professor Agalakada Sirisumana Thero, and Kotapitiya Rahula Thero.

The case was heard before a three-member Supreme Court bench comprising Justices Yasanta Kodagoda, Achala Wengappuli, and Mahinda Samayawardena.

Delivering the ruling, Justice Kodagoda, the presiding judge, stated that the petition was rejected due to a lack of prima facie evidence to support the claim.
