When he participated in the press conference held at the Samagi Jana Balawega head office, Mr Sujeeva Senasinghe, the head of presidential election operations, said:

They talked with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) about handling the country’s economy after the presidential election. After Mr. Sajith Premadasa won the presidential election, they discussed in detail the programs and plans to recover the country’s economy. Representatives of the IMF were informed that there are talented individuals in the United People’s Force capable of elevating the economy and attracting investments. It was also explained that a diverse system without fraud and corruption would be created. They highlighted that economic growth could be achieved through the tourism industry, contributions from foreign workers, and strengthening exports.

Additionally, a survey agency claimed that Mr Anura Kumara Dissanayake, leader of the National People’s Force, has garnered 38 per cent of public approval. However, the credibility of this survey is questionable. According to their report, the National People’s Power has 26 per cent approval, Podujana Peramuna has 16 per cent, and the United National Party has 7 per cent. In more reliable survey reports, Samagi Jana Balawegaya has 44 per cent approval, National People’s Power has 15 per cent, Podujana Peramuna has 10 per cent, and the United National Party has 6 per cent. Nonetheless, these survey results cannot be trusted entirely.

Mr Ranil Wickramasinghe and his associates have been blamed for making Sri Lanka the poorest country in Asia. A mandate is expected in September for the people to remove these individuals. The public is urged to vote against the group that bankrupted the country. Talented and intelligent members of Podujana Peramuna have joined Samagi Jana Balawega, although many from Podujana Peramuna were ready to join but ultimately did not.

Furthermore, about 10 new groups and MPs are set to join Samagi Jana Sanandha. Efforts are underway to include individuals of integrity, excluding those accused of fraud and corruption. Winning with such individuals would not be beneficial. Mr Sajith Premadasa assured IMF representatives that MPs would not join Samagi Jana Balawega for money.
