People’s Bank officially unveiled its Matale Regional Head Office and Matale Branch recently. The newly-built four-storey building conveniently located at No.45, Raja Veediya, Matale was ceremonially declared open by State Minister of Finance Hon. Shehan Semasinghe.
For over 63 years People’s Bank has been in the forefront to meet the banking and financial needs of the Sri Lankan public. This modern banking complex was opened to provide the most modern digital banking services to further improve the financial services offered to the people in the surrounding areas.
Through the Self Banking Unit (SBU) available at the premises customers can conveniently withdraw and deposit funds 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
At the ceremony, several customers were granted proceeds of loan products including People’s Business Power, People’s Spark and People’s Green Loans. Additionally, People’s Elegance and People’s Excelsior customers were offered Credit Cards, while Mrs. A. Dhanushika, who was a weekly winner of the People’s Remittance Vaasi Kotiyai Draw 2024 was presented with her prize of Rs.100,000.

Chandrakumar as well as bank staff members, Government officials and Customers attended the event.
The People’s Bank Matale branch holds special significance as the bank’s first-ever outstation branch when it was ceremonially declared open by the then Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike at No.253, Trincomalee Street, Matale on 19th August 1961.
