The Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka has issued a series of tweets with sharp criticism regarding the statements made by the Chinese ambassador in violation of basic diplomatic rules.

It is mentioned in the series of Twitter messages. The comments expressed by the Chinese ambassador have been brought to our attention. The violation of basic diplomatic ethics may be a reflection of his personal characteristics or a general national attitude.

His views on Sri Lanka’s neighbor may have been shaped by the way his own country behaves. We assure him that India is very different from that The purpose of the trip was made clear by him attributing a geopolitical context to the trip of the ship, which is said to be a scientific research ship.

Opacity and debt-based agendas are a big challenge right now, especially for smaller countries. Recent developments are a warning. What Sri Lanka needs is support, not unnecessary pressure or unnecessary controversies that serve another country’s agenda.

➡️We have noted the remarks of the Chinese Ambassador. His violation of basic diplomatic etiquette may be a personal trait or reflecting a larger national attitude.(1/3)
