University of Moratuwa Team Advances to Huawei ICT Competition 2023–2024 Global Finals

Huawei Sri Lanka is pleased to announce that a team from the University of Moratuwa has successfully advanced to the Huawei ICT Competition 2023–2024 Global Finals and Regional Award Ceremony of the Huawei ICT Competition 2023 – 2024. This marks a historic moment as it is the first time a team from Sri Lanka will represent the country in the Huawei Asia Pacific finals of the competition.

The University of Moratuwa team showcased exceptional skills and expertise in the Cloud Track of the Regional Huawei ICT Competition 2024, earning them a coveted spot in the Asia Pacific Finals and Award Ceremony, which will be held in Indonesia. The final ranking of the team will be announced during the awards ceremony.

Vice President of Huawei Enterprise Business Group, Ni Xiaopeng, expressed his delight at the University of Moratuwa team’s advancement to the Asia Pacific Finals. He emphasized that this accomplishment is an evidence to the collaborative efforts of students, educators, and the broader educational ecosystem. Additionally, he highlighted the exceptional talent and dedication showcased by the students, as well as the supportive educational environment provided by the University of Moratuwa and Sri Lanka as a whole.

Ni Xiaopeng reiterated Huawei’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering innovation in Sri Lanka and beyond. He underscored the significance of the Huawei ICT Competition as an international platform for students to compete, exchange ideas, and enhance their ICT knowledge and practical skills. Through healthy competition and idea exchange, students are empowered to innovate using new technologies and platforms.

The achievement of the University of Moratuwa team underscores the remarkable talent and dedication of its students, as well as the supportive educational environment fostered by both the university and Sri Lanka as a whole. Huawei acknowledges and celebrates this milestone with great enthusiasm.
