Union Assurance, Sri Lanka’s foremost Life Insurer has successfully concluded the ‘Heart Day Step Challenge’, an engaging competition that aimed to promote cardiovascular health. Organized by the Company in commemoration of World Heart Day falling on 29th September, the competition not only encouraged physical activity but also raised awareness about the critical significance of cardiovascular health.

The competition, which spanned 15 days, witnessed an enthused participation from over 600 competitors. During the competition period, participants were tasked with tracking their steps using the Union Assurance Clicklife App, via its ‘Get Fit’ feature. This advanced feature includes a comprehensive dashboard for tracking physical activity and a calorie counter for monitoring daily food intake. Notably, it also incorporates an AI-powered food image capture and recognition system, allowing users to capture images of their meals and gain insight into their calorie intake. Through the Clicklife App, users can also craft personalized fitness plans for weight loss or maintenance, based on the widely recognized Mifflin-St Jeor equation for calculating Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). These features collectively empower customers to maintain a healthy lifestyle and enhance their overall well-being.

Winners of the competition are rewarded with digital vouchers through the Clicklife app’s fully automated digital reward system. These vouchers can be redeemed with over 85+ partnering merchants, offering a wide range of exciting opportunities and experiences.

Union Assurance is a subsidiary of the John Keells Group, one of Sri Lanka’s largest listed conglomerates.
