To effectively reach out to a wider audience and enhance the overall customer experience for individuals residing in the vicinity of Bandarawela, the outlet located at 136, Dharmawijaya Mawatha, Bandarawela was declared open to the public on 25th March 2023 ceremoniously.

The outlet was declared open by the Chief Guest, Hon. Chamara Sampath Dassanayake, the State Minister of Primary Industries, in the presence of The Commissioner, Danaraj Gajendra Kumara

, Superintendent of Police, DMM Dassanayake, Head Quarter Inspector of Police, DM Nishantha Kumarasiri, celebrity guest, Sri Lankan actor and singer, Raween Kanishka amidst customers and well-wishers.

The revamped and refurbished outlet claims modern facilities and an experienced and knowledgeable team of professionals who can provide customers with a comprehensive and sophisticated shopping experience.

Expressing his thoughts on the presence of Fashion Bug across the local fashion retail landscape, the Chief Executive Officer of Fashion Bug, Shabier Subian stated, “Fashion Bug is a well-known and respected brand that has established itself in households over time. While maintaining the legacy as a household brand is important, it is equally crucial to adapt to appeal to a younger demographic. The Bandarawela store which previously encompassed close to 500 sqft now boasts over 3,000 sqft of retail space where we offer trendy and fashionable ranges alongside our classic offerings, and we are making an effort to stay current with the latest trends. We have also redesigned the store’s interior to have a more modern and stylish feel, with a layout that presents our products more clearly for a seamless shopping experience.”

Established in 1994 with a team of seven people in Bandarawela, with its first store occupying a small 500 square feet space in the town, Fashion Bug was founded by Mr. Rizal and Ashan Subian. Today it has evolved into a household brand that boasts 14 outlets island-wide with a workforce that comprises over a thousand individuals of different ethnicities and backgrounds. Fashion Bug takes pride in being a Sri Lankan fashion retailer that showcases locally designed and manufactured brands produced in small and medium-sized factories while introducing international brands and global trends to the country, thus creating unrivalled fashion and lifestyle experiences for the Sri Lankan consumer.
