Rishabh Pant maiden ton, Hardik Pandya’s brilliance give IND memorable series win

At Old Trafford in Manchester, India sailed to a 2-1 series victory behind an undefeated century from Rishabh Pant.


Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya’s game-winning efforts gave India a thrilling 2-1 series victory against England in the third One-Day International on Sunday at Old Trafford in Manchester. Pant crushed an unbroken 125 runs off 113 balls to reach his first ODI century while chasing a 260 run mark.

Pandya, who was also in excellent form at the plate, played a valiant innings of 71 runs off 55 balls to help the visitors win by five wickets as they reached 261/5 in 42.1 overs.

For England, Reece Topley was in excellent form and claimed three wickets. Initially, India bowled out the hosts for 259 in 45.5 overs thanks to a four-wicket haul from Pandya. Jos Buttler scored 60 runs off of 80 balls, scoring three fours and two sixes in the process. Ravindra Jadeja picked up one wicket, Yuzvendra Chahal picked up three, while Mohammed Siraj recorded two dismissals.
