We made a special disclosure a few weeks ago through the ‘Inside politics’ column, revealing that the Rajapaksas are planning a major political operation for next May-June. Not in a hurry!
‘I haven’t even thought of holding a presidential election yet. Some say that there will be a presidential election at the end of this year. Others say that this president does not have the power under the constitution to do so. So we are not in a hurry about it yet. On the other hand, Ranil is now working in good shape. Next presidential candidate Ranil ?

That is, two special people are currently engaged in a very deep study of the conditions of the financial fund. These two are two people who are already dealing closely with the IMF as well as the World Bank and have extensive knowledge about the economy, also two officials who know the economic structures of the government very well.
Accordingly, it has been learned that the two of them are studying the clauses of this agreement very carefully one by one, and are currently preparing a detailed report. According to the information we have, it is known that the notes kept by these two on the most sensitive matters in the agreement are clauses that none of the opposition has yet touched.
Adverse clauses in IMF deal
It is even doubtful whether the opposition representatives are aware of such adverse clauses in the agreement related to the financial fund. Accordingly, they are preparing the related report these days. Although this report is not made public, it is said that it is being prepared with the aim of giving it to a certain party. According to the information we have, when looking at those fine clauses, they are of the opinion that the deal with the financial fund is more likely to collapse in the half way through.
It is known that the agreement contains many conditions and serious issues that Sri Lanka cannot fulfil. Also, the report is said to include facts about what is going to happen to Sri Lanka’s economy in the future. World bank and ADB ?
In addition to this, we are ready to reveal another special matter to the country through the inside politics column this time. It is about the announcement issued by the Presidential Media Unit that after receiving the first instalment of the financial fund, it will be possible to get a loan of 07 billion dollars from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. It is a fact that the World Bank has decided to give any loan amount after receiving the relevant loan amount.
What PMD said
But it is not nearly 07 billion dollars as said by the Presidential Media Unit. According to what we have come to know, the World Bank has decided to give 850 million dollars to Sri Lanka. A preliminary agreement has been reached between the two parties in this regard, but a final agreement has not yet been reached in this regard. Accordingly, we have to say that the story of getting 07 billion dollars after receiving the loan from the financial fund is the same as the story of getting 4 billion dollars from several countries including Japan after Ranil took over as Prime Minister.
Although Ranil was the Prime Minister, the government did not receive a single dollar from Japan or any other country. In the end even the financial fund released a loan of 350 million dollars only after many months of Ranil becoming president. But the people of the country accepted the statements made by some in the government that the country would receive billions of dollars in this way, just like today.
But at that time we also said that even if the government said so, Sri Lanka would not receive any dollar from Japan. Like all the other points that we have said, this too was confirmed in plain sight that day. Accordingly, this time we are claiming that the Presidential Media Unit is receiving 07 billion dollars from the World Bank and other institutions, but it is receiving only 350 million dollars from the World Bank.
ADB norms
Generally, the Asian Development Bank provides less money than the World Bank, so it will be less than 350 million dollars. But still there is no specific mention of the loan amount from the Asian Development Bank.
In the midst of all these situations, last week the government reduced the price of oil by giving a temporary relief to the people, reduced gas prices, increased the quota of oil, given to the people. Due to this, although the people got temporary relief, the prices of crude oil and gas are rising again in the world market. Therefore, it is doubtful how long this relief given by the government will last.
CIA visit to Sri Lanka
A few weeks ago, we revealed extraordinary news that was not revealed by any media in Sri Lanka through the Inside politics column, and we said that a special team including the head of the CIA, which was America’s secret intelligence service, came to Sri Lanka very secretly and arranged to spend a few hours.
The group included the heads of the ‘Asia Pacific Command’, and we took steps to publish the photos showing how the two special planes they came from were parked at the Katunayake airport. Moreover, we further discovered that even the Katunayake Immigration Unit did not record any evidence in order to keep the manner of this group’s entry into Sri Lanka a secret, and that the expressway was closed without any prior notice when the group arrived from Katunayake via the expressway to Colombo. This video was released by Major Madan Kumar, who is a well-known security analyst in India. He was a distinguished officer who once served in the Indian Army. Accordingly, Major Madan Kumar, who recently released an extraordinary video, revealed many special details about the journey of the group including the head of the American intelligence service who came to Sri Lanka very secretly. Madan Kumar points out that the C.I.A. Even India did not know about the arrival of the team including the leader Bill Burns in a special plane, and even they came to know about it after they notified the Indian government requesting permission for two American special planes to enter the Indian airspace.
Accordingly, the Indian secret services have started a special investigation regarding why these two American planes suddenly arrived in the Indian airspace, where their destinations are and who is coming in those planes. There, the CIA will arrive in these American planes. Major Madan Kumar revealed in his video that India was also very alert about this trip after discovering that the leader was Billy Burns and the destination was Sri Lanka.
In addition to this, Major Madan Kumar, confirming the disclosure we made that day, points out that C.I.A. In addition to the chief, 21 people including representatives of the Asia Pacific Command were included in this group. They bypassed the Katunayake immigration unit and entered Sri Lanka. American government’s grant

One of the suggestions is that a new cable system can be provided from Sri Lanka to other countries running by cables under the sea. The other is that a new system that can know the information of submarines can also be provided. He also points out that the Pentagon can get all that information. Major Madan Kumar has indicated in his video that the American representatives have informed that both of these can be given as a grant. Apart from this, this video contains many other details about this journey.
Silence by India!
Major Madan Kumar points out that the Indian government is also fully aware of the secret journey of these American agents. Refusal from Nepal

LG election
Currently, all parties responsible for conducting the local government elections are working in a lukewarm manner. In particular, the Election Commission has called discussions about it from time to time, but the Treasury Secretary, who is supposed to release the money needed for the election, does not say a word about it. SJB and JVP have filed this case under the charge of contempt of court against the non-implementation of the decision related to the election given earlier by the court and the decision is to be given by a five-member bench led by the Chief Justice.

Similar incidents were seen in India and Pakistan in recent days as well as in Sri Lanka. When the state elections were about to be postponed in India, the opposition sought the help of the courts and the Indian courts took steps to provide the opportunity. Recently, the Supreme Court decided to hold the elections in two states despite the claims of no money in Pakistan as well, but the Supreme Court ordered that the elections should be held immediately. Accordingly, many people are waiting for the decision of the Supreme Court regarding the election on May 26.

Those influences say to pay attention to human rights and democratic structure in providing aid to Sri Lanka. Knowing this, President Ranil Wickramasinghe has informed the International Monetary Fund and other lending institutions that he is ready to hold the local government elections by the first week of next August. Therefore, we have to tell the groups who are saying ‘no votes… no votes…’ that the election is scheduled to be held by August, and that they should prepare for it now.
Government’s same old fake news
In the past few months, every time the government faced a challenge, the government used the news that a group of MPs from SJB would join the government as ministers to suppress the challenge and divert the attention of the people. Not once or twice, but six or seven times in the last few months, the government has spread this news in its friendly media. In all those cases, ‘Mawrata’ said that this news was false and that nobody was ready to join the government.
However, it was seen that a massive media operation had been started by using social media networks and all the mainstream media for a few days before the Parliament Day held on the 4th of April. In that media operation, it was said that 40 Sahab MPs are ready to join the government on 04th. Mainline newspapers, foreign media and many social media networks spread this news from time to time so much that the whole country thought that on the 4th of April in Parliament, a large part of the party will join the government.
New three ministers from SJB?
Further confirming it, on the 4th, the Daily Mirror newspaper, owned by the family of Mr. Ruwan Wijewardene, UNP deputy leader and senior advisor to the President, had revealed another extraordinary fake news through its lead story. The news revealed that Harsha de Silva, Kabir Hashim and Eran Wickramaratne were to join the government on that day, and that Kabir Hashim was to be sworn in as the policy-making minister. The news had also reported that a final decision has not been taken on the minister ship to be given to Harsha, and that Iran will join the government without a ministry. Accordingly, many people who believed this news in the Daily Mirror newspaper were ready to see how all three economic experts from SJB would join the government that day.
Tweet response by SJB members
However, seeing the news on Tuesday morning, Sajith, Harsha and Eran immediately took to twitter to condemn the unethical journalism of the Daily Mirror newspaper. Later, Eran took steps to strongly criticize the Daily Mirror newspaper by posting a message on Twitter. But on that day too, not only the news published by the Daily Mirror newspaper, but also the propaganda carried by other media saying that 20 will go, 40 will go, proven to be a complete lie, did not get to see how any member of SJB joined the government.
In this way, while a campaign was being launched there was another attempt to fish out SJB MPs by paying millions took precedence. This was revealed for the first time through a notice given to a SJB Youth MP. There, a young businessman who had been involved in controversy in the past had spoken to this MP. Apart from this, a strong person related to the UNP also spoke to this MP and said that if he joins the government, he can be give an amount of 200 million.
Later, when this young Member of Parliament informed Sajith about it, Sajith in turn asked if there was any evidence to confirm it. Then when the young MP said that he had recorded the phone calls, Sajith in turn asked if he would tell this information publicly. Then the MP said that there is no problem. Accordingly, on the same day, Sajit and SJB General Secretary Ranjith Maddumbandara held a press conference and revealed to the country that the government had started an operation to extort the opposition MPs by paying 200 million. With this revelation, the people who spoke to the opposition MPs saying that money will be given were also seen to become silent.
SJB May Day
In the midst of this background, last week the Samagi Jana Balawega MP group meeting was also held at the opposition leader’s office. Here, attention was first focused on how to conduct the May Day rally. As usual, they tried to use the Campbell park for that purpose, but since Pohottuwa had reserved it before there was a discussion regarding the selection of another place. There, some councillors pointed out that the SJB May Day rally should be held at Kirulapana Lalith Athalamudali grounds. But many people expressed opposite views saying that the ground is very small and various problems arise while reaching the place. Accordingly, their argument was that the Hyde Park ground in the middle of Colombo is suitable for this as it is easily accessible to all. Accordingly, the group finally decided to hold the SJB May rally at Hyde Park.
Anti-Terrorism ACT
After that, the discussion was about the Anti-Terrorism Act, which was a topic of great controversy these days. Sajith had also appointed a committee consisting of three senior lawyers to study this bill, and the lawyers had taken steps to hand over the report of the committee to the MP group meeting that day. The careful study done by the lawyers had revealed that two sections of the previous Anti-Terrorism Act have been corrected by the new Act, but various adverse parts have been added to three other sections of the previous Act and it has been strengthened. However, the funniest thing that happened here was that Mr. Rajitha Senaratne, who used to not stand for repressive ordinances, commented in favour of this new terrorism bill of the government. There, almost all the MPs expressed their opinions against Rajitha, so it was seen that some kind of heated situation arose. However, in the end, the MPs said, ‘If Mr. Rajitha wants to support this bill let him do so. But for us, we cannot raise our hands and walk down the street.’ Accordingly, SJB finally decided to oppose this bill and challenge the bill in court.
Diana Gamage
Mrs. Diana Gamage is a controversial character who makes news from time to time. In the past, she became more famous because of the proposal brought to the parliament that cannabis should be legalized. Also, a special case is currently pending before the court regarding her foreign passport.
Last week, another special incident was reported regarding Diana. That is in the parliamentary committee that discusses the higher education policy. When Mr. Chandima Weerakkodi, a lawyer who came a little late to the meeting, was explaining a special proposal regarding higher education, Diana protested. Diana’s objection was based on the fact that those who were present at the beginning of the meeting should be given the opportunity to comment rather than those who arrived later.
But Chandima was explaining his opinion before the committee that a professional certificate should be issued so that those engaged in various professional fields can go for foreign jobs. However, Chandima’s proposal was hindered due to Diana’s continued objection, and on several occasions, Mr. Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, the chairman of the committee, also expressed his views against Diana. But due to Diana’s continued comments against Vijayadasa, he eventually informed Diana to leave the meeting. Eventually, Diana had to leave the meeting.
