Yesterday, Minister Kanchana Wijesekera presented a proposal to the Cabinet to increase the electricity cost beyond the consumers’ ability to pay, but it was not approved.
The electrical trade unions stressed that they decided to engage in trade union activity as soon as the electricity cost is increased.
