The NIA released photos of nine underworld Sri Lankans arrested in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu (TN).

Photographs of nine underworld Sri Lankans apprehended by the Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) from a special camp set up for Sri Lankan refugees in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu (TN) have been made public.

They have been accused of engaging in drug and arms trafficking in order to resurrect the LTTE.

According to the agency, two of the arrested men had regular contact with Haji Salim, a Pakistan-based drug trafficker who travelled frequently between Dubai, Pakistan, and Iran.

A spokesperson of the agency said that C Gunasekaran alias Kimbulala Guna, Pushparaja, Mohammad Azmin, Alahapperumaga Sunil Gamini Fonseka, Stanley Kennedy alias Bumma, Ladia Chandrasena, Dhanukka Roshan, Vella Suranka, Asita Noel and Thilipan were arrested.
